Esther Tulchinsky Revitch
June 24, 1907 - February 29, 2004


 
 
        Esther Revitch, 96, died on February 29, 2004 in the Regional Burn Treatment Center at Crozer–Chester Medical Center from injuries sustained in a fire at Martin’s Run Life Care Community, Meida, Pa.  where she had resided for 14 years.  
        Mrs. Revitch was born in the Pale of Settlement in the Ukraine and immigrated to America with her family in 1911.  She moved to the Strawberry Mansion section of North Philadelphia in 1912, where she lived until her marriage.  She graduated from Girls High School in 1925 and from the University of Pennsylvania in 1929.
       She was married to Eugene Revitch for 58 years before his death in 1996.  She worked briefly as a high school math and science teacher and managed her husband’s medical practice for 48 years in Plainfield, New Jersey.
       She is survived by her daughter, Judith Porter; her son-in-law, Gerald Porter; three grandchildren, Daniel Porter, Rebecca Madsen, and Michael Porter; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Miles Judd Porter and Jacob and Alexis Madsen.  
        A memorial service was held in Martin’s Run Life Care Community on Wednesday, March 3 and burial was in Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ..
